Aspen Safety Improvements Walking/Rolling Tour

Help make Aspen safer for pedestrians, cyclists, transit users and motorists

Join the City of Aspen engineering team in an interactive problem-solving session to identify safety issues and brainstorm recommendations for improvement. The 90-minute tour will visit challenging intersections around Aspen where you can share your personal experiences and dialogue with city engineers and safety specialists. In addition to community input, the team will review crash history, assess existing infrastructure conditions and speak to relevant stakeholders like police, fire, emergency responders, and transportation planners. The final report, known as a Safety Action Plan, will help staff and the public understand Aspen’s unique safety challenges, opportunities and systemic recommendations required to make the community’s roads safer for the most vulnerable road users – people walking, biking, taking transit and driving. Please wear comfortable shoes to walk from to various intersections and bring your best thinking cap.
