How to stay informed

    Whether you attend a meeting, provide public comment, schedule time with elected officials, or follow along online, there are many ways to stay informed and engaged.

    Attending a City Council Meeting:

    Regular Meeting Schedule

    • Regular City Council Meetings: Second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 5 p.m.
    • Work Sessions: Mondays beginning at 4 p.m. Additional work sessions may be held on the first or third Tuesdays as needed.

     Council Chambers are located on the third floor.

    Providing Public Comment

    Public comment is an important part of the decision-making process and takes place at every regular City Council meeting.

    • Public comment occurs immediately following council roll call at the beginning of the meeting.
    • Speakers are allotted up to three minutes
    • Comments should focus on issues, not individuals
    • Residents are encouraged to prepare remarks in advance
    • Arrive on time to avoid missing your opportunity to speak

    • Once seated at the desk in front of council, press the microphone button to activate it. A green light indicates the microphone is on

    Participating Online

    Residents watching remotely may provide public comment through Zoom:

    • Use the Zoom link provided on the meeting agenda
    • Select the “Raise Hand” feature when the mayor opens public comment
