Project Overview
The City of Aspen will be conducting stormwater inlet and ADA ramp repairs along Main Street between 1st Street and 6th Street beginning July 27, 2026. Construction is anticipated to continue through early October.
This project is part of the city's ongoing commitment to maintaining safe, reliable, and resilient public infrastructure. By repairing aging stormwater inlets and improving ADA ramps, the city is investing in the long-term health of its stormwater system while enhancing accessibility for pedestrians.
Construction Schedule
Crews will work at each location for approximately two weeks, beginning at 6th Street and progressing west toward 1st Street. Work will move block by block as each location is completed.
What to Expect
During construction, the following impacts are anticipated:
Rolling single-lane closures along Main Street
Work occurring at one stormwater inlet location at a time
Rolling sidewalk closures around active work areas
Temporary parking restrictions, with select spaces in the north and south parking lanes reserved for construction activities
Alley access will remain open throughout the project
Motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists are encouraged to use caution when traveling through work zones and follow all posted traffic control signage.
