The City of Aspen’s Parks and Open Space Department is developing a management plan for the Ute Properties located at the end of Ute Avenue, including the Ute Cemetery and Ute Park. The management plan will become the guiding document forthe properties for a period of 10 years.
Why We’re Asking:
The Ute Cemetery and Ute Park form a rich cultural and natural landscape.In preparation of the Ute properties management plan the City worked with a historic preservation consultant as well as natural resource consultant to understand the complexities of the site and the challenges that it faces.What consultants cannot tell us is how the space is used by our community and the values that are important for residents and visitors. The management plan details how the properties will be managed going forward and it is important that the community has a say in those strategies.
